FinnEnergia is involved in building an energy-efficient society of the future whose members, buildings and neighbourhoods comprised of buildings actively contribute to the energy system. As production becomes increasingly fragmented, the management of energy production and consumption must become smarter. Regions should utilise energy self-produced by buildings as effectively as possible.

NewBEE was an EU project carried out between 2012 and 2015 where we explored the approaches and information systems that could enable simulating energy efficiency solutions in renovation projects. The developed tools provide building owners with support in making investment decisions related to applicable solutions and minimising lifecycle costs.

In 2015, we became involved in the a href=”https://www.vtt.fi/sites/moder/home” target=”_blank”>MODER project. MODER involves developing an innovative and practice-oriented tool for simulating the energy efficiency and environmental impacts of renovation projects and selecting the best technological solutions.
